King James and The Brow. Kawhi and PG13. Westbrook and Harden. The Splash Brothers. Zion!! The West is going to be loaded this year. But reigning NBA MVP The Greek Freak, The Process (76ers), the Boston Celtics, and the defending NBA World Champion Toronto Drakes (err…. I mean the Raptors) still reside in the East. Plus, we also got to see KD move out east and team with Kyrie. Experts are giving the LA Clippers the edge (with Kawhi Leonard and Paul George) when it comes to winning the title, but it really is up in the air this year. Gone are the days of The Big Three super teams. Superstars have gone more of the Dynamic Duo route. We may never again see an offseason like the one that just unfolded. The regular season can’t start soon enough; we’re ready to see how these duos will fare. At this rate, each team should just play 2 on 2 for the entirety of the season (NBA Jam style) and only go to 5 on 5 when the playoffs roll around.
For those of you that can’t wait for the official start to the NBA season, the next best thing is getting your copy of NBA 2K20. It is set to be released on September 6 with 3 different editions in 2 different formats. It’s available for purchase on the Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, and PC. It should be noted though, you can’t purchase a physical copy of the game for PC (digital copy only) .
If you pre-order the Standard Edition, you get the following digital items: 5000 Virtual Currency, 5000 MyTEAM Points, 5 MyCAREER Skill Boosts, MyPlayer Clothing Capsule, 10 MyTEAM League packs (delivered one a week), and 5 Heat Check packs (delivered one a week beginning at the start of the regular season). The Standard Edition has a digital copy and a physical copy available for purchase (depending on your console). The Brow himself graces the cover of both the Standard Edition and Digital Deluxe Edition.
The Digital Deluxe Edition is only available as a digital copy but you still receive the following if you pre-order before September 5: 35,000 Virtual Currency, 10,000 MyTEAM Points, 10 MyCAREER Skill Boosts, MyPLAYER Clothing Capsule, 10 MyTEAM League packs (delivered one a week), 5 Heat Check packs (delivered one a week beginning at the start of the regular season), and 1 Sapphire MyTEAM Cover Athlete Card.
Pre-ordering the Legend Edition gets you: 100,000 Virtual Currency, 50,000 MyTEAM Points, 20 MyCAREER Skill Boosts, MyPLAYER Clothing Capsule, MyPLAYER Apparel Collection, MyPLAYER Shoe Collection , 20 MyTEAM League pakcs (delivered one a week), 20 Heat Check packs (delivered one a week beginning at the start of the regular season), 5 MyTEAM Theme Packs (one per theme release across the first five releases), and 2 Sapphire MyTEAM Cover Athlete Cards. Plus, Mr. Miami Heat himself, D. Wade is on the cover. Who else could they have on the cover? (Umm… Dirk Nowitzki would have been my personal choice, but I don’t have a say in it, and D. Wade isn’t a wrong choice anyway) .
Depending on your gaming console of choice, you can purchase the digital copy of NBA 2K20 through the Microsoft store, PlayStation store, GameStop, or the 2K Store. Physical copies can be purchased at any of your usual gaming retailers: Walmart, Target, GameStop, Best Buy, and Amazon.
According to NBA 2K20, the top 10 rated (overall) players are:
The top 5 rated rookie players are (and it’s fascinating that this is the exact order in which these guys were drafted this past April):
The WNBA doesn’t get enough credit and exposure. Yes, it may not draw the crowds, ratings, and revenue that the NBA does, but that doesn’t mean these women can’t ball. It’s not entirely new to the franchise, but NBA 2K20 is putting an extra emphasis on exposing users to the WNBA world. You can choose to play as one of the 12 WNBA franchises and navigate through the 2019 season in WNBA Season Mode. Do you have what it takes to win both an NBA and WNBA world title in the same season?
Not much information is out yet, but it’s rumored that NBA 2K20 is releasing a free NBA 2K20 demo for select platforms. This will allow you to try a portion of the game before its release. The demo is set to go live on August 21st just after midnight for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and the Nintendo Switch (not available for PC).
